R J Dorey was started by Bob Dorey when he was around 26, following redundancy from a local electrical firm where he had served his apprenticeship. Bob's very first customer, a local landowner and farmer, is still a customer of ours today, over 40 years later.

The business began as a sole trader, with Bob taking on several apprentices along the way. In 2015, as the business looked to grow, it became a limited company with a staff of four including Bob. From that point it has grown consistently, always keeping Bob's ethos of looking after customers, with great quality and service, while being a sustainable, responsible business.

Today R J Dorey has eleven employees, including eight qualified electricians and technical specialists. We have vast experience across many types of electrical and related installations, offering a one stop shop for anything from a light fitting change, electrical inspection, rewire, new installation or complete lighting scheme, through to Solar PV, battery systems, automation, EV charge points (domestic and commercial), and more.
